Wow. Er. I dunno.

I'm... okay, I'm borderline happy. Nah, I'm better than borderline happy. I'm temporarily happy :)
Biggest happy of the day (and hopefully a long-lasting one) was a decision me and my mom made.

I'm not sure exactly how we got onto the issue, but we were looking at the number of electives I need for my CPSC degree. In total, it's like 39 elective credits (12 of which MUST BE ARTS, and the rest can be either Science or Arts). My mom asked what I would take for my many necessary credits. I suggested minoring in French since I'll be taking a French course in the summer (hopefully *cross fingers*) but we took a look at the courses required for minoring in French and they consist of some hardcore analysis stuff including the analysis of Medieval works. I don't know about you guys, but I have enough trouble from analyzing English works, never mind whether or not they're Medieval and never mind that they'll be in French (as my mom pointed out).

So that prompted my mom to suggest minoring in Linguistics. After I spazzed at how they grouped the courses by lists (List A, B, C, D) à la RCM, my mom realized that minoring in Linguistics doesn't quite cover all the elective credits I would need and that I can't even direct my studies in Linguistics towards French (there's like 1 French course which contributes to a minor).

And then I got happy because of the next words out of my mom's mouth: "How about a minor in Music?"
Can I get a chorus of "HELL YES"s? :D Just kidding. But we took a look at how many credits a Music minor would give me and it's 33, a number a lot closer to my required 39 than a Linguistics minor would give me. We also looked at some of the lower-level required courses and it looks fairly do-able. I mean, it just looks like Harmony and some History (omg yes). GAH, I'M SO EXCITED. Is this what school is supposed to be like? The only thing is that scheduling will be tricky since I didn't get any courses done this year towards my minor. But it was kind of impossible given the credits I had to acquire for 1st year CPSC. The way that things turned out, my 1st year had no room for electives (okay, technically Phys 100 was my elective, but I needed it to take Phys 101 which is a required course).

So freaking psyched. There's this 'Computer Music' course and it's got me already thinking. I don't think I'll go for any of the performance courses, but I think there's enough other stuff to scrounge up 18 credits of stuff.

But this also means that I probably won't be taking MUSC 103 with my stalker and anyone else who was interested in it (Tra?)... :(

I know that it's going to be a lot of work and some things might not work out perfectly, but that's the beauty of university, I think. Well, if you could think of it as beautiful at all.

Smaller happies of the day included my friend buying me a donut to eat during Math class, making fun of the ridiculousness of Psyc w/my fobby friend, the sunshine :), talking to WG <3, and my stalker helping me with Physucks :D
And I know I have shietloads of work to do, but I feel like I can't wait for my life to happen.
