All that candy that I ate earlier? Well... it is making my tummy hurt now. T______T Urgh. Jeebus. And the candy wrappers are sitting here on my desk. Taunting me. With their rainbowtastic colours and lingering sweet smell. Oh the paaaaaaaain. D:

I also realized that the Math practice questions I was going to do today are on a topic that we haven't covered yet in class. SO. THOSE ARE BEING POSTPONED TO ANOTHER DAY. \o/ Although that means that I should probably be working on my paper, I think that I'm going wait an hour or so and let my stomach sort itself out before attempting to work on it.

There was something I sorely wanted to comment on, but I've since lost it. Hopefully it'll come back to me before the end of this post.

In gaming news, apparently Microsoft's Kinect is racist. Well, not really. It boils down to the amount of light deciding whether or not you will be picked up by this new fangled gaming peripheral. Though when I first heard the issue brought up as "LOL KINECT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE BLACK PEOPLE" I admit that I let out a big "LOLWUT" before looking for sources to confirm/nullify this rumour. Admittedly, I'm not overjoyed by the Kinect. And I hate to sound like an elitist, but the whole concept feels very gimmicky right now. I do certainly see potential with a more immersive gaming experience in the future, but with the shovelware being churned out onto the video game market in this day and age, it just seems extremely gimmicky to me right now. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against gimmicks, really. I have a Wii. It is gimmicky. And I have to say that in terms of actual gaming (things beyond Wii Sport's boxing and Cooking Mama), the wiimote and its peripherals are quite unnecessary. Honestly. That being said, the Wii seems to be thriving on this gimmickiness with the plethora of shovelware-quality games being released for this system. And by "thriving" I mean drowning. Drowning in the sea of gimmicky shovelware. I'm going to be honest here: if you want a console for gaming, go for the PS3 or any of its predecessors. The Wii is great for casual gamers, hosting parties (WHICH REMINDS ME. GUITAR HERO PARTY IN DECEMBER, ANYONE?), and everyone else but that specific audience of joystick-twiddling, button-mashing young adult male that brought the video game industry to where it is now. Notice how I don't fall into that category. I admit wholeheartedly that I love my Wii. If only you could see my Animal Crossing town and how Hogwarts-like it is. Maaaaaaaan.

And I probably stereotyped like crazy in that last paragraph, but sometimes there's a kernel of truth in a stereotype, sadly.

I'd like to comment more on the Air Canada incident with that refugee who decided to play dress-up, but I just can't. I can see why he (or anyone) would want to come to Canada, but it just seems silly that airport security would let something like that slide. And getting fully into the issues involving that might getting into comments on racism and I'd rather not. Racism is a reality. As much as I'd like to believe that it doesn't exist, it most certainly does. ... And I was about to go into a diatribe on that, but I deleted the start of what I had written and I don't want to go down that path at this hour with my eyelids all droopy at... 10PM. Some early shut eye is in order, methinks.

Oh dear, December is nearly upon us (well... kind of). And that means that my wallet will have to worry about presents and such. In the meantime, I think I'll create a little "Things to Get" page à la B4BYme sometime in the next few days. It would probably help anyone who feels obligated to get me presents, I think. Though if you don't get me anything for Christmas, I would be more than overjoyed. Just let me know in advance! :)

And as of yesterday, the Canadian Pacific Railway turned 125 years old! Coincidentally my mom mentioned that my great-grandfather worked on the CPR. Huh. Interesting. Though not as badass as my grandfather and his adventures in New York, I have to say. But that's a story for another time.

Time to write about Italian and English madrigals. Hell yes.
(Jesus Christ, I have too much to say. And it is all boring. SORRY, LOVELIES~)
(EDIT: I just realized that I'm being overly verbose with my blog entries because I've missed writing. ;___; I don't even mean writing fiction. I just mean writing.)
