I finally have all of my first term marks now! And compared to some people, it seems like I'm fairly lucky to have all of them posted already. I am quite pleased with my music theory mark, as it even surpassed my CPSC mark by a few percentage to take top spot. All in all, I'm very happy with my marks for this term. I feel like they answer all of the questions I asked myself about whether or not I even belonged at university in the first place. I also see them as indicating whether or not I'm directing my studies to the right fields. Although Math is most certainly not a strong subject of mine, I think that this means that even totally illogical people like me can do university-level Math. This also means that I should be good to go for co-op next year! :)
Today I ate lunch with my cousin, which was nice since it felt like I hadn't seen her in forever! We ate at Red Robin's which is probably one of my favourite restaurants purely because the freckled lemonade is to die for. The fact that you can get free refills for the thing meant that I downed 3 or 4 of those suckers fairly easily. After moseying on over to Bon Chaz to take advantage of these 'free brioche' coupons my dad got downtown, we wandered through Pacific Centre and Canada Line'd our separate ways home. Unsurprisingly I actually saw a few acquaintances/friends while I was out (2 of which I didn't really acknowledge because they were at a distance and I wasn't sure it was them until too late), including one that I bussed home with. :)
Returning to the subject of school, I put some textbooks up on craigslist. For anyone who doesn't give enough of a damn to click the link, but is interested in some 200-level Math textbooks and/or a 100-level Psychology textbook, here's the basic low-down:
Title | ISBN |
MATH 200/253: Multivariable Calculus, 6E + SSM | 9780495011637 + 9780495012283 |
MATH 221: Linear Algebra & its Applications, 3E (cust ed) + SG | 9780558311766 + 9780321280664 |
PSYC 102: Part 2: Psychology of the Adaptive Mind, 3rd Cdn Ed | 9780176435578 |
And I found out today from my mom that my grandmother apparently used to swear up a storm. In English. Now she's just a nice old lady. Is it wrong that that earns her +10 respect points in my books?
