Mishmash

And Canada tries to cheer itself up by tweeting about that "Unruly Russian" team. Apparently they were booted off by a flight attendant for being unruly. I wonder if the flight attendant was Canadian. I'm not sure if this is really worthy of being a news item, but I think that Canada is clamouring for some justice, and a way to deal with the blow.

Now that it's January, you know it's that time of year again! Dine Out Vancouver will be in full swing January 24th - February 6th. I'm looking forward to tasting more of that west coast cuisine we're apparently known for. Really, people come to Vancouver just for the food. We must have some good stuff out here, but I just don't have the money or time to taste it all. And I don't have the most discerning palate so perhaps it's for the best.

Since telling my parents about getting in for co-op (a feat that was not accomplished purely because I am female), they've been decently supportive, though I can tell that my mom still is rather against me going out of the country/continent. They also showed me this article (top of page 8) today about the top 10 jobs, based on outlook, income, cushiness, etc.

I guess that's somewhat reassuring for me. Though I'm not so confident about anything that I'll go and do an honours degree like what my friend is urging me to do. I'm not sure how much of a difference having a little 'H' next to my name would make in terms of... everything.

I've already got homework (aside from reading) for this weekend, so I'll try to make myself scarce until Monday, or at least until procrastination urges me to post my findings here.
