So Yesterday

Yesterday was a day of going out and celebrating the birthdays of two of my friends. Can I consider them longtime friends now since I've known them since grade 8? That's like... 7 years ago. Boy, time sure passes quickly.

Alright, so yesterday we had a buffet lunch down at the RiverRock Casino/Resort in Richmond. This was the view from my seat. Yay, it wasn't raining! The food was alright. I mean, it's buffet food so it's not so much quality as it is quantity. And apparently I filled myself up so much that I couldn't even make myself hungry enough for dinner. I think that's like a first. Another first was the fact that I perused the salad bar for once. They had some yummy potato salad, pasta salad, and some alright Thai noodle salad. There was quite a variety of desserts and I got to try some panna cotta. It tasted much better than it looked -- it has a subtle flavouring and pastel-coloured jelly appearance. And since we were (technically) at a casino, we wandered into the casino where I did not gamble. In a way I regret not getting the free $5 BC gold card thing, but then I don't really need $5. It'd be nice, but it wouldn't change my life so let's just say "no regrets" and not dwell. As far as I'm concerned, casinos are for shady business transactions and old people.

After lunch we took the Canada Line deeper into Richmond to Richmond Centre to watch Rango. For what it was, I think it was a pretty good movie. I went in with little to no expectations so I was pleasantly surprised. Also, quick question, but when did Starbucks' green tea frappuccino come back into season? I don't recall seeing it on the menu back in the winter months, but suddenly I see everyone carrying it around. Admittedly, that's probably my favourite frapp flavour, but then it's not like I drink them regularly or anything. I'm guessing that it's a seasonal thing since I think that I last had one in the summer... like 3 years ago. I'm not good with keeping up with Starbucks and anything they offer.

Anywho, after the movie we went back to my friend's place and watched some TV. We also participated in the EarthHour thing. In a big group, it's hard finding good conversation topics, I think. We're all also very different people so that made things a little strained too. But we got through it.

I like talking one-on-one with people. Me in big social groups = I stop working.

And this is what I've been up to today. It's just been one big group chat on Skype with my comp sci people because this horrible assignment is due at midnight tonight/Monday and people's codes aren't working and blah. D: Yeah, and my friends are trolls.

I'm kind of choked that I haven't started on any of my 3 variations on that blasted Bach chaconne yet. 12 measures. Must get it done!
