Delusion-Elle

delusional, since 1991 *pew pew*

I've been neglecting this blog. Yes, I admit it. I finished finals on the 20th and it's now the 24th so a little recap is in order.

My music final was straightforward, my 221 final was actually easy-ish (for the most part), and my 213 final was... well, it was better than I'd expected, but I'm not 100% confident about it because they mark fairly hard for the course. Anywho, my exams are over! And I've got until May 9 to sit tight and enjoy myself. :)

In much sadder news, the lead singer of my favourite band resigned and I am absolutely heartbroken, so I'm avoiding anything having to do with that band.

Now that I'm done with school (temporarily), I have time to actually watch hockey and play video games. I've already completed co-op with my brother in Portal 2. Portal 2 was fun! Much like I expected: equal parts frustrating and fascinating. It always feels so good and rewarding when you complete a level in that game, and some of them were extremely extremely tricky. I won't give any details away since most folks are working on the 1-player campaign first, but I was so thankful that my brother is a Physics geek and excellent puzzle-solver.

Oh, the Royal Wedding's going to be aired at 1AM on the west coast. My mom's got this latent obsession with the royal family so I bet that I'll be watching it, whether live or recorded is up to how tired I'll be.

In other world news, Time reported that America is not the happiest nation in the world. In fact, they couldn't even crack the top 10:

  1. Denmark
  2. Sweden
  3. Canada
  4. Australia
  5. Finland
  6. Venezuela
  7. Israel
  8. New Zealand
  9. Netherlands
  10. Ireland
That being said, of course it doesn't matter where you are, so long as you make the best of it and can appreciate what you have. Or at least that's what I believe. Nice to see that Canada's in the top 5. :)

And in terms of most livable cities, I know that I've brought this up previously, but given the sources last time I was skeptical, but Time says that Vancouver trumps them all. In fact, this information aligns exactly with those previous articles I linked to, complete with the fact that Calgary and Toronto also make the top 10, though Australian cities took 4 spots of the 10.
That's still pretty fantastic, I think, for a country that is generally believed to be comprise of mostly ice and snow. And health care. Mustn't forget the health care.

And probably the most interesting article I found on Time.com was this one about how swearing helps relieve pain. Awesome. Can I just cite pain as being the reason why I swear like a pirate on occasion?

tl;dr version:
- finals went well
- Roy Khan left Kamelot (I am heartbroken)
- Portal 2 is awesome
- Royal Wedding's coming up
