I think that music makes me happier than anyone or anything else. I can't even put into words how hyped up I get when I'm about to listen to Kamelot or if I find a new, catchy song to listen to. So yeah, that's all there is to it.
[boring account of my day, edited to remove hormonal comments]
Today was an odd day. Fridays start with my 8AM Stats class, which consisted of me and my 221 lab partner until my friend's boyfriend joined us, and then my lab partner's friend joined us as well. I found out that my lab partner's friend plays the flute. And he takes lessons still. We geeked out about flutes and Berlioz's 'Symphonie Fantastique'. My project partner slept in today and missed Stats class, but I met up with her during my break.
221 started off in a strange way: my prof wandered up and down the rows and tried to match faces to names. He didn't bother guessing my name, though he thought that I was someone else ("You've told me your name multiple times, haven't you?"). The class was spent looking at proofs and comparing recursion and iteration. Meh.
After class was my 213 lab. From start to finish, it was a headache. In total I spent around 7 hours on it, I think. Admittedly, about two hours of it I spent going back and forth between my 213 and 221 labs. My allocated lab time was only 2 hours, and during that time, of the two girls I work with, one never showed up (she's sick apparently), and the other went and sat with her boyfriend (after giving me an apologetic smile). With my 221 project partner skipping French class to work on her Math homework beside me, I worked on my labs alone. Partway through, this guy sat down at the computer beside me and I thought that something about him seemed familiar. After my hot Russian TA came to ask if my little table group was okay, I talked to the guy next to me and realized that he was working on the 221 lab. And so I met my first American UBC student. He's from Vermont, but I have to say that I have no idea where that is. He said that it's near Montreal, but even that just means "back East" to me. Anyway, he was my 221 lab partner's project partner (try and figure that one out in less than 5 seconds), which is why he seemed familiar. And he'd gotten a haircut since I last saw him. So while he was cute before, he's now cleancutandcutewithhisbigblueeyesandblondhair... okay I'll stop. He was also in my 30-person Engl class last year, so I thought that I'd recognized him from there.
I'm finally done my 213 lab, though. And I'm pretty sure that it's a hard lab if my genius friend was there until 6PM, too. Whew.

So my parents found some article in the paper about LikeALittle @ UBC and mentioned it to me like "Oh hey, we read about this fun site called LikeALittle!". Yeah, no. Not fun. Just creepy. Apparently the examples in the paper were "fairly tame" and "pretty funny" -- so my parents say -- but I'm not sold on LikeALittle. I'd rather not know people's weird fantasies.
Also, the NHL All-Star draft is done and the skills challenge will be tomorrow! I'll probably be missing it so I can get my 221 assignment done, but hopefully I can catch the game on Sunday. Team Staal versus Team Lidstrom. I have to agree with a common sentiment that Team Staal was built on the "buddy rule" whereas Team Lidstrom was actually put together like a team. Regardless, I think that it'll be a great game. However, if I had to choose, then my money would be on Lidstrom, although Eric Staal looked mighty fine.
