Excuse me while I rofl quietly in a corner of my room as it is 4AM and some pretty weird things were said to me.
EDIT: Honestly, when someone says, "im going to bne honest with you, youre pretty amazing. cute asian girl who likes good games" I cannot keep my shit together. I downplayed it, obviously. To be honest, there are tons of prettier/cuter Asian girls out there who play video games. So I reminded him of that. But then... "yeah but, youre better. idk why. you just are :P" BRB rofling.
EDIT: Apparently me at 1AM forgot that Detroit is in the Western conference *facepalm*
So it's the end of Round 1 for the Canucks, at least. I've only really been following teams in the Western conference plus Montreal (... which is like 60% of the teams in the playoffs...), but I'm aware that there will be two Game 7's on tomorrow. Exciting!
Anyhow, I don't have too too many thoughts on the Canucks' win tonight. I'm not an expert hockey analyst or an avid fan with all the memorized statistics or anything, but I do have some thoughts. I'm still of the opinion that the Canucks should've eliminated Chicago ages ago. Chicago definitely isn't the same team this year as it was last year, and they barely even made it into the playoffs this time around. The fact that they were even able to tie the series came as a shock to me. Yes, the Canucks won this series, but it went all the way to Game 7. That's got to be tiring for them. I mean, they played and traveled 3 more times than Detroit had to, and I don't think that Detroit is nearly as good this year as the Canucks were during the regular season. That being said, that was the regular season; everything changes come post-season.
What doesn't sit well with me right now is the fact that Vancouver is celebrating right now as though we've already won the Cup. To me that means: a) You're just looking for an excuse to part, and b) You don't have faith in your team that they'll make it through any more series hence the early celebrations. I mean, the crowds on TV... I haven't seen the streets that filled since the Olympics! This was just Round 1, people, there's still a long ways to go.
Big kudos to Corey Crawford. He's the only reason why the Hawks were able to stick around at all. And he's probably the most under-appreciated goalie in the league right now. I mean, I had hardly heard of him before the playoffs.
Anyway, that's it for tonight.
I don't mean to be bashing Vancouver (should anyone misconstrue my 1AM ramblings here), but I just think that people should be a little more grounded. Sure, celebrate a little, but it looked like a pretty rockin' party downtown right now. In the end, what I'm saying is just an opinion, and I'd be glad if yours is different.
To show that I still do love Vancouver, you can puzzle over these articles on how beautiful Vancouver men and women are. I am not even kidding. Two separate articles/photo gallery pieces on attractive people and beautiful women and Vancouver is included in both lists. I'm not sure if I should laugh or just roll my eyes.
I contemplated sticking some random prisoners in the back windows but I couldn't think of who to stick in there. God knows they would be prisoners given my driving.
Anyhow, tomorrow will be dedicated to getting my music assignment done as well as getting some studying in for my 2 quizzes on Tuesday. G'night!
This is going to be a long blog entry, not so much in terms of words I am typing, but mostly due to the sheer size of a few videos I'm going to post. Just a little "quantity over quality" warning.
To get the boring "real life story" part of my blog entry out of the way, yes, today was another glorious day spent at home. And by "glorious day", I really do mean that it was a nice day today. The sun was shining, the sky wasn't clouded by grey storm clouds. It looked like spring or early summer. The temperature was chillier than summer or spring at 4 degrees C, but it was still really beautiful outside. But I spent my day indoors studying for CPSC 213 and watching the Tim Horton's Heritage Classic game between Calgary and Montréal. Calgary totally kicked butt.
My brother updated me on the whole Minecraft infiltration of the Swedish subway card contest today. Apparently there is a new Minecraft creature up for voting called the Sad Squid. I cannot facepalm any more at that name/idea/concept. Sad Squid. I haven't even played enough Minecrap to know what this Sad Squid thing looks like, but God forbid that it should resemble a blocky cubic squid that is frowning or, nay, crying. From the forum post:
*UPDATE*Right, well... If a Minecrap critter makes it onto the subway card, I can just imagine my brother's latest arguments for wanting to go to Sweden: "THERE'S A MINECRAFT CREEPER/PIG/SQUID ON THE CARD. I HAVE TO GET ONE! AND I WANT TO MEET NOTCH." I mean, why would you choose a Minecrap thing over this delicious ice cream? Or these awesome cupcakes? (I'm really liking this Amanda Cullbrand woman, no lies. And if I'm being serious, okay, delicious desserts might not be such a great idea either. But hey, ice cream >>> cupcakes >>>>>>>>>>> Minecrap anything) ... And after going through a bunch of those entries (looking for more yumtastic entries), I've realized that I'm slowly picking up words (I think). >___> "Ett hjärte för dig" = "A heart for you", I believe (not Google translating to check). Oh Jesus, I've even come across an entry featuring Försberg, which I guess makes more sense than the JBiebz entry (no link for j00). Sverige är konstigt. So very konstigt. @____@
The creeper made it to the finals.
The Pig will make it to the finals!
Sad Squid is up for voting!
Help the Squid become happy!
Click on "Rösta"/Rosta http://design.sl.se/bidrag/8469/- This could be on the Swedish subway cards!
Speaking of yumtastic, and tying that into the Heritage Classic, someone on Twitter posted a picture of a special Tim Horton's Heritage Classic donut. I'm trying to figure out if that is Photoshop'd or something, but regardless, that looks delicious. I love Timmy Ho's donuts. And speaking of food and hockey...
Do not mention "East Side Mario's" to me. Do NOT. For those of you who are reading this, scratching your head, not comprehending the significance behind those three words concatenated in that order -- probably because you don't watch CBC during hockey games -- then let me show you the thing that haunts me in my dreams, the stuff of nightmares... THIS is East Side Mario's:
Oh and I came across this today after UndefinedLimit tweeted some East Side Mario's lyrics at me:
I miss those "History Will Be Made" commercials. I swear to God, CBC only ever spams this commercial during hockey games.
I'm also trying to decipher the lyrics to "To India's Shores". I'm am almost 100% certain that this song is about Christopher Columbus. I'll list my reasons after my attempt at transcribing...
She wears a ruby necklaceRight, so...
She's got those emerald eyes
Her pace is graceful
And her words are wise
Hoping my pleading
Can get the treaty signed
I tried so hard and failed again
But something's changed her mind
So my time has come
Nothing is impossible
It can be done
A course no navigator sailed before
To India's shores
The conquest of Grenada
Impossible they said
But she has courage
No one's ever had
She proved them wrong
And so will I
My dream will never die
So my time has come
Nothing is impossible
It can be done
I sail into the west, I'm showing
Everyone
That nothing is impossible
I'll be the one
To find a course no navigator sailed before
To India's shores
Oh, when I close my eyes
I see cities made of gold
And a land where nobody grows old
So my time has come
Nothing is impossible
It can be done
I sail into the west, I'm showing
Everyone
That nothing is impossible
I'll be the one
To find a course no navigator sailed before
To India's shores
- Chris Columbus thought that he could reach India, and actually mistook America for India, hence the naming of aboriginal people as "Indians"
- If I heard correctly, Grenada is mentioned and it is/was a Spanish colony, I think. I'm not well-versed in Spanish history or anything, but it seems kind of Hispanic and is giving me the "I got pwned by a European country" vibe.
- I don't know why, but the "emerald eyes" and "ruby necklace" remind me of Isabella of Castille, and I think she was Columbus's benefactress and was responsible for the Grenada thing.
- ... further Wikipedia research has confirmed the Columbus-Isabella-Grenada connection, though she apparently had blue eyes. Derp.
So today was Valentine's Day, and I have to say that today I probably had the most enjoyable Valentine's Day of my short little life so far. No, I didn't have a hot date or anything, but I *did* get to hang out with probably my 3 closest friends. The day consisted of watching television (How I Met Your Mother & Jeopardy) and playing a few games of Pyramid that my friend made using PowerPoint. That was great fun. Lots of inside jokes were spawned from that.
My bed covers are messy, but oh well. Not like anyone cares~~~
For all you melancholy folks, have a
As I am currently stumped on my CPSC project, my boredom has peaked and I've decided to set my anagramtastically-named Facebook account open to friend requests. Oh snap, guys.
liar, a king, or a fool, but sing me a song of prosperity~
horrible person, but I just found out that the main singer guy here:
is Harry Potter in A Very Potter Musical:
And I can't stop laughing. Well, when I first saw that "Teenage Dream" clip I was practically rofl'ing. Now I am laughing and twitching. All at the same time. This is all just so bizarre.
I am dead serious. I can't stop laughing/snickering/guffawing/chortling.
Especially at the line: "I'mma get your heart racing in my skintight jea--" OH DEAR LORD, I AM VIRTUALLY Orz-ing on the floor laughing. That song is just plain ridiculous to begin with.
Teenage dream, my arse.
Oh, Darren Criss, +10 respect points to Gryffindor.
(And he just further proves that half-half kids look pretty good.)
Just a bit of randomness from today...
I don't advise reading this unless you are really rather bored and you have a vague idea of who I'm talking about when I say "Swedish friend" and "creep in my CPSC class".
So I was complaining about a certain creepy bastard in my CPSC class to my Swedish friend and after being told this:
"PUNCH HIM PUNCH HIM PUNCH THE CREEPSTER [/bad influence]"
I explained that as much as I'd like to punch the creep (who is kind of a douchecanoe for reasons beyond being overly friendly and socially awkward), he is still bigger than me and I'd like to survive thnx v. much. So I was then told this:
"Tåria, I've said it before and I'll say it again, because it bears repeating: LOW KICK. Seriously. It makes more damage the bigger your opponent is. Ten million Machops can't be wrong."
HAHAHA. TEN MILLION MACHOPS CAN'T BE WRONG. OH LORRRRRRRRRRRD. xD
I almost started rofl'ing right then and there in class.
That might've scared the creepster off, though, come to think of it.
Dayum.
I'm *supposed* to be studying for Math since my midterm is tomorrow, BUT the interwebz has distracted me once moar. ;_______;
And no, it's not in the form of a 8-hour long MSN conversation. Haw-haw.
This is Toria. She's about to fail her Math 221 midterm. This fate could've been avoided if she had a sassy gay friend.
She's a stupid biatch.
FROM THE PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT YOU CHARLIE THE UNICORN...
You can thank my online friends for sharing this with me. xP
LAWL no, not really a leak of faith.
BUT IT LEAKED. THE NEW KAMELOT ALBUM LEAKED.
And I know no one cares, but I must do this as this is most definitely part of my duty as a Kamelot fangirl. If you ever doubt that, then you are obviously not looking in the right place (you may have to go back a page or two as I DO HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF THAT PLACE. Kinda).
Okay. So. Duty first:

Okay and now I'm just going to ramble a bit about it because this has been the highlight of my day plus all the lulziness that happens here. Lulziness will be recapped at the end of this post. BUT RAMBLES FIRST. The first thing I have to say about Poetry for the Poisoned is that it is a GROWER. My first listen resulted in me liking tracks 1, 5, 10, and 11. But I gave the album another listen and holy shit I love it. I may not totally love every song, but I have to say that the choruses are really catchy in most of them and the guitarwork is incredible. Another part of my fangirldom is the fact that I must spread the gospel word of Kamelot to everyone. So here are my basic basic recommendations, though I still think the entire album's worth a listen *is biased*:
- Hunter's Season: I LOVED THIS SONG WHEN I FIRST HEARD THE 10 SECOND SAMPLES. <333333 Of all of the songs on this album, I think that this one owns my heart, first and foremost. It is really sad (it was written about the guitarist's mom passing away ;___;) but overall the song is mid-to-uptempo and they use those quick 16th or 32nd (too tired to figure it all out) double kick drums that I love. And THAT GUITAR SOLO. HOLY YES.
- The Zodiac: It's creepy (Dear Editor is the intro, but it's not necessary if you're not into overly dramatic and creepy backstory) and the vocals are aggressive. The band uses a guest vocalist and he really only adds to the creepiness of the story of the Zodiac Killer. Srsly. Look up the Zodiac Killer on Wikipedia. Kamelot does their research well.
- The Great Pandemonium: To me, this song is a combination of March of Mephisto and Rule the World. Rumour has it that it's related to Paradise Lost and the whole Pandemonium bit which we never reached in Lit, but that work fascinates me still, regardless. There are some harsh vocals from a guest vocalist so if you're not into that sort of thing, then I suggest not listening to this right away, though the duality at the end is just AWESOME.
- Poetry for the Poisoned, Pt. I: Incubus: The riff in this song has just been stuck in my head since I first heard the sample of it. It's the beginning of a 4-part epic song about vampires. No, they don't sparkle. And in fact, Kamelot wanted to do a concept album on vampires, but they said that they didn't want to cash in on the Twitlight hype, so they just kept the concept confined to these 4 tracks. The only bit about this part of PftP that I'm kind of mehhhhhh about is the little spoken word definition of an incubus towards the end. But this transitions SO WELL into...
- Poetry for the Poisoned, Pt. II: So Long: THIS SONG. HOLY. ARGH. SO BEAUTIFUL. It features another guest vocalist who pops in their songs from time to time and her part is a nice contrast (even if her voice is a teensy shrieky when she hits those really high notes). This is currently on repeat one right now. I just. I can't even. I have to post bits of the lyrics: "A minute more 'til the light of day is here/Lay down/I know you must be nearly there/A bloody kiss and the vision of a dream/For the last of your days in the sun/In the white light I am calm yet peculiarly cold/Silent slumber and wide awake/Love have mercy on my soouuuuuulllll/SO LOOOOOOOOONG, YOUR SORROW BE GONE."
LULZINESS ONLINE:
"I ONLY CALL YOU A N00B BECAUSE I ~*CARE*~"
---
"No. An album must be approved or discarded on first listen. This is the age of the Internet, we shouldn't have to wait to enjoy things anymore. And where is my flying car?!"
"Mr. Weasley stole my flying car (THAT PUPPY-KILLING BASTARD) and let his good for nothing son fly it into a goddamn tree with that messy-haired Potter brat."
"That sounds awful. Is the car still Rowling at least?"
---
"Dammit, stop copying me! I said bai to her in that way first! >:O"
"im in ur hed, copyin ur baiiis 8D"
"I wish I was in ur hed instead. Then I could be all like "all your bais, are belong to meh >:D", but alas, noooooo. :("
"ALL UR BAIS, BAIS, BAIS, ALL UR BAIS -- R BELONG 2 ME!"
---
"No, in approximately three and a half hours (plus a few minutes) you will be a September n00b instead. :D In fact, you will be even more of a n00b then since you won't even have EXPERIENCED any September 2010 by then, UNLIKE ME."
---
"OF COURSE! If you take the word "incubus" and you switch the first two letters, remove the s, change the n to an l, and then just turn cu into za and bu into rd, you have "lizard"! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW."
TODAY WAS THE DAY THAT THE INSANITY KNOWN AS HARRY P-NESS WAS BORN.
My God, I love unintentional lulzy words coming together to result in something hilarious.
And we learned that you can hear Fang barfing in Hagrid's Hut in Harry Potter land in Florida.
I LOVE YOU GUYS. YOU KNOW THAT. <3 x)
Okay, so we got some "designer cupcakes" recently.
And I just want you all to know... THAT THEY REALLY AREN'T ALL THAT 'DESIGNER'.
Though, the cream stuff does taste very sweet, and slightly buttery.
Do note that the cupcakes' packaging included a sticker that said "STRAWBERRY DAREDEVILS!" on it.
And according to my Last.fm friends, I'm a modern female Swedish Tarzan. LAWWWWWL All I have to say to that is: Jag infart, du utfart (which is what got me into trouble in the first place *headdesk*).
Because she knows who Charlie is :)
And this made me chuckle, though I did not do so "darkly".
"I don’t buy that Harry and Ginny are soulmates. I buy that the bits of Voldemort soul they both had inside them acted like magnets."

And also,
Someone left me an offline msg but whenever I'm on to respond, that person is never on AND IT JUST PISSES ME OFF. But only sorta. Many more and worse things piss me off much more.
But whatever. Time for some lolz.
I have a French quiz I should be studying for but I just finally got a hold of the person on MSN and finished that conversation. And I can't stop looking for lulzy pix. :(
